However, such is Atleti's defensive ability—and the counter-attacking threat they pose—the Foxes are signficant underdogs to make the last four of Europe's top-tier competition.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are also on the back foot heading into their second-leg clash with Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu after conceding two away goals in a 2-1 first-leg defeat.

Leicester have upset the odds many times over the last few seasons.
They escaped relegation with a stunning late run of victories in 2014-15, won the most unlikely of Premier League titles in 2015-16 and have made it to the last eight of the Champions League in 2016-17 despite largely wretched league form.
Given the Foxes' penchant for performing at the most crucial times, overturning a 1-0 deficit at home in the second leg of a European quarter-final should not necessarily prove beyond their reach.
However, in trying to beat Diego Simeone's Atleti side they face one of the toughest challenges in Europe.
The Madrid outfit have a stunning defensive record in Champions League knockout matches, and Leicester are likely going to need three goals at the King Power Stadium to make it to the semi-finals, per The Independent's Miguel Delaney:
Per BBC Sport, the Foxes could be without first-choice centre-backs Wes Morgan (back injury) and Robert Huth (suspended) for the visit of Atleti.
Given Leicester will be forced to go forward in order to level up the tie it seems likely Atletico will look to exploit them on the break, and they should be successful given the hosts' absentees and Antoine Griezmann's prowess in front of goal.
The equation does not look good for Leicester given their relative strengths compared to Atletico's, and it seems unlikely they will beat the odds again on Tuesday to make the final four.
Bayern have the quality, experience and personnel to overturn their deficit against Real, but the holders are unlikely to give up their crown with ease.
Cristiano Ronaldo's second-half double in the first leg put Zinedine Zidane's side firmly in charge of the tie.
The Portuguese superstar and Karim Benzema are likely to return to Real's first team after being rested at the weekend, but Gareth Bale could be a big miss, per Spanish football writer Dermot Corrigan:
One of the key aims for Bayern will be to prevent Real from scoring.
