Military Sergeant Surprises His Family at Coin Toss Disguised as Nebraska Player
Thomas DuffyApr 17, 2017
Over the weekend, Staff Sergeant Matthew Hawke surprised his family at the Nebraska Cornhuskers spring game after a 10-month tour in Afghanistan, "where he had been serving with G Company 2-104th GSAG, also known as Task Force Nightmare," per Steve Beideck of Omaha.com.
Hawke geared up in team uniform—helmet, pads, wrist tape and everything. He took the field with the team and met his wife and kids, in attendance for an honorary coin toss, at midfield.
The family was understandably ecstatic once Hawke took off his helmet.
