FIFA 17 Ultimate Team: FUT Team of the Week 25, in-Form Player Cards Announced

Rory MarsdenMar 8, 2017

Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann heads the Team of the Week 25 in FIFA 17's Ultimate Team with a 90 rating, and he is joined by French national team-mate Karim Benzema of Real Madrid in the starting XI.

The Liga pair share the limelight with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Borussia Dortmund, while Liverpool's Roberto Firmino made the bench.

EA Sports released the lineup of 23 players on Wednesday:

Bournemouth goalkeeper Artur Boruc and Stoke City's Marko Arnautovic stand out as two of the Premier League players in the starting XI, the former recognised for his heroics in the Cherries' 1-1 draw with Manchester United, while the latter was boosted up to an 87 rating after his double against Middlesbrough.

Southampton's Dusan Tadic also received a deserved first in-form card after scoring one and setting up two against Watford, while Florian Thauvin's excellent display for Marseille against Lorient earned him a boost in rating from 84 to 86.

A formidable quartet of Inter Milan's Ivan Perisic, Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly, Barcelona's Samuel Umtiti and Bayern Munich's Javi Martinez complete the starting XI.

Antonie Griezmann, Atletico Madrid

Griezmann inspired Atleti back to winning ways on Sunday as they beat Valencia 3-0 at the Vicente Calderon having picked up just one point from their previous two La Liga games against Deportivo La Coruna and Barcelona.

The French playmaker netted the Madrid outfit's opener after 10 minutes and then sealed the victory seven minutes from time after Kevin Gameiro scored early in the second half.

Football analyst Dave O'Brien provided the 25-year-old's impressive stats from the encounter:

Griezmann's in-form card sees him boosted from a previous 89 rating overall, while each attribute has improved.

While Griezmann's latest in-form boost may have caught the eye, however, FIFA YouTuber NepentheZ lambasted the absence of another La Liga's stars after Lionel Messi dazzled with two goals and two assists against Celta Vigo:

Impressively, both his shooting and dribbling have  now hit 90, while his defending is up from 34 to 40.

Karim Benzema, Real Madrid

Benzema made his first Team of the Week this season after netting twice and providing one assist in Real's 4-1 rout away at Eibar in La Liga at the weekend.

With manager Zinedine Zidane keeping an eye on Tuesday's UEFA Champions League clash against Napoli, Benzema was without his usual attacking allies Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale. Nevertheless, Real emerged as 3-1 victors and Benzema was left to celebrate a valuable win:

It mattered little, though, as Benzema put Los Blancos 2-0 ahead inside 25 minutes, before James Rodriguez netted a third before the break in a blistering performance, per Spanish football writer Dermot Corrigan:

Benzema's passing is up to 82 from 77, while his shooting increased from 84 to 87, his pace from 81 to 82 and his dribbling from 82 to 85.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Borussia Dortmund

Aubameyang passed the 20-goal mark in the Bundesliga for the second season running as he scored twice for Dortmund against Bayer Leverkusen in Saturday's 6-2 home win.

It was his second double on the bounce following his brace against Freiburg and moved the Gabon international onto 21 league goals for the campaign from just 21 appearances, per WhoScored.com.

It's hardly surprising the overall quality of TOTW 25's front line was of an elite standard given professional FIFA player Ty Walton also highlighted Messi's absence as Aubameyang, Griezmann and Benzema got the nod:

Per Squawka, Aubameyang significantly passed Robert Lewandowski's BVB tally with his double against Bayer:

His latest in-form card—Aubameyang was also included in Team of the Week 8—sees him boosted to a frightening 98 pace, while his 89 shooting and 86 dribbling point to him being one of the best strikers around.
