Carey Price Ties for 3rd-Most Victories in Habs History
Montreal Canadiens netminder Carey Price tied Ken Dryden for the third-most victories in franchise history with the team's 3-2 win over the New York Rangers on Tuesday, per Sportsnet Stats.
Price may have required 95 more games than Dryden to reach the 258-win mark, but it doesn't take anything away from his accomplishment. Dryden won the Vezina Trophy five times in his career with the Habs and was inducted in the to the Hall of Fame in 1983.
Price's 2014-15 campaign won him awards across the board. Not only did he lead the All-Star voting, but he also took home the Hart Memorial Trophy, the William M. Jennings Trophy, the Ted Lindsay Award and the Vezina Trophy for the league's top goaltender. Unfortunately, his chance to defend the titles ended early last season due to a season-ending MCL sprain in Nov. 2015, per the Montreal Gazette.

The 29-year-old netminder hasn't returned to the elite form he displayed a couple season ago, but he still owns solid numbers between the pipes this season. Through 45 starts, Price has gone 25-15-5 with a 2.44 GAA and a .918 save percentage.
Price may not be playing up to his normal standards, but his return certainly hasn't gone unnoticed. The Canadiens finished well out of the playoff race a season ago but sit atop the Atlantic Division standings 60 games into this season. If Price begins playing the way he's capable of, Montreal can't be counted out as a Stanley Cup contender.
