Manchester City vs. AS Monaco

Often Champions League knockout ties are cagey and defensive affairs. But for these two sides, sitting back is not in their makeup.
City will need to make the most of having the first leg on their own patch so expect them to push forward in search of goals. Pep Guardiola's side have so much firepower to call upon in the final third. Having rested key men against Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup at the weekend, the team's players should be refreshed for the challenge.
It will be a big night for Sergio Aguero, who will be expected to press from the front and hassle defenders as well as score goals. Per Dominic King of the Daily Mail, the hard graft is not something the forward has always enjoyed:
Should City push on too much, they'll leave space to be countered into and that's exactly when Monaco can be dangerous.
Under manager Leonardo Jardim, they have evolved into one of the most prolific sides in European football, with the likes of Radamel Falcao, Thomas Lemar, Kylian Mbappe and Bernardo Silva all major threats in attack.

As OptaJose noted recently, Monaco are also not afraid to go direct if they have to:
That variety is something that will trouble City, as they've struggled to find balance in defence for much of the season. Monaco, as a result, have it in them to grab some crucial away goals at the Etihad and make the second leg at the Stade Louis II a captivating contest.
Prediction: Manchester City 2-2 Monaco
Bayer Leverkusen vs. Atletico Madrid

In their runs to the final under Simeone previously, Atletico's modus operandi has been keeping it tight, playing with aggression and nicking goals. But expect to see a more enterprising approach from the Madrid outfit at the BayArena.
With goalkeeper Jan Oblak injured, along with key defensive cogs Juanfran and Diego Godin, the manager has been prompted into playing a more attacking style. With the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Yannick Carrasco, Fernando Torres and Kevin Gameiro to call upon, that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Indeed, Atletico showcased their strength in depth in the final third on Saturday in La Liga, when Gameiro came off the bench to snaffle a hat-trick against Sporting Gijon.
In a style not too dissimilar to Atletico, Leverkusen have also been searching for a spark domestically this season, languishing down in eighth place as things stand.
Roger Schmidt's side have been uncharacteristically leaky in defence, and in another huge blow for them, the team's most creative player, Hakan Calhanoglu, has been suspended for the rest of the season because of a transfer dispute.

They have some reasons to be confident here nevertheless. Bayer have won their last two league matches, and after a testing season, Javier Hernandez has looked back to his best since the winter break:
Atletico have been far from their best in recent La Liga matches, with moments of individual brilliance getting them out of jail against Sporting and Celta Vigo the week before. Given Leverkusen are lacking in consistency themselves, expect a similar story at the BayArena on Tuesday.
Prediction: Bayer Leverkusen 1-2 Atletico Madrid
