Atletico Pueblonuevo were hosting Plasencia in the Extremadura region of Spain's Tercera Division, when defender Miguel Angel Tive seized on a cleared corner after 15 minutes and hit a sensational strike from just in front of the centre circle.

The ball flew through the still-crowded penalty area at a rate of knots, past the helpless goalkeeper and into the top corner.

The home side went on to lose the match 2-1, but it's Tive's goal that has captured the attention of football fans across the globe.
