Idaho won just nine games in a brutal stretch between 2011-15, but on Thursday night, it reached the nine-win mark in a breakout 2016 season with a stunning 61-50 upset win over Colorado State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

The Vandals (9-4) got a huge performance from quarterback Matt Linehan, who threw four touchdowns against no interceptions in the 11-point win. The Rams (7-6) and their high-flying offense had a lot of trouble moving the ball against Idaho’s defense early, and they failed to answer during a 41-0 run that stretched from the second to third quarter.

Idaho came into the game as a 15-point underdog, via Odds Shark, but it took advantage of playing a virtual home game and blasted the favored Rams.
