Former WWE wrestler Shad Gaspard disarmed a potential robber wielding a BB gun in a Florida convenience store and restrained him until the authorities arrived at the scene, according to TMZ Sports.

The Coral Springs Police Department told TMZ the suspect "appeared to be drunk" and approached Gaspard, saying, "Hey man, buy me a beer." When Shad responded by saying, "There's a better way to ask than that," the suspect pulled out the weapon; Gaspard then pushed him against a cooler and disarmed him.

Gaspard told Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet the suspect revealed he was going to rob the store after pulling the gun from his pants.

Gaspard said he didn't realize it was a BB gun until he went to remove the gun's magazine and saw an air canister compartment.

"I thought it was a real gun the entire time, and honestly, I just didn't want anyone to get hurt," Gaspard told Satin. "I just kept thinking about how I wanted to make sure I got home to my son."

When the suspect attempted to escape the scene, Gaspard chased him down, slammed him to the ground outside of the store and put him in a rear-naked choke while the authorities were called.

Gaspard, 35, was a wrestler in the WWE between 2005 and 2010 and has since appeared in acting roles in movies and television, including roles in Get Hard and Key & Peele.
