WWE Rumors on Jacob Fatu & AJ Styles, CM Punk Addresses John Cena Classic and Worlds Collide

Reported Plans for Jacob Fatu's Return

Jacob Fatu has been out of action for more than a month, but fans reportedly may not have to wait much longer to see him back on WWE programming.

According to PWInsider Elite (h/t Felix Upton of Ringside News), Fatu's on-screen return is "not far off," as he has already filmed promotional material for a WarGames match at Survivor Series with his fellow Bloodline members.

On the Sept. 28 episode of Raw, Fatu was shockingly hit by a car in a parking garage. Jaida Parker was the driver, and after initially acting like it was an accident, she revealed herself to be a member of Royce Keys' 946 faction.

Fatu has been off television since then, but the rivalry between The Bloodline and 946 has continued to dominate Raw in recent weeks.

Carmelo Hayes and Cruz Montana have joined 946, giving them a numbers advantage over The Bloodline.

However, once Fatu returns, all the pieces will be in place for a five-on-five WarGames match pitting Roman Reigns, Fatu, Solo Sikoa, Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso against Keys, Hayes, Montana, Bronco Nima and Lucien Price.

While WWE has yet to announce the WarGames match, every indication is that The Bloodline vs. 946 is in the works, and Fatu returning would allow for the company to make it official.

There are times when WarGames matches feel thrown together and predicated on the calendar rather than a storyline that requires the stipulation, but that won't be the case for The Bloodline and 946, as their feud is tailor made for the double cage.

Latest on AJ Styles' Role at WWE PC

New information has emerged regarding WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles' role at the WWE Performance Center.

On the heels of wrestling reporter Andrew Baydala (h/t WrestlePurists) recently reporting that Styles has been "quietly running things" at the WWE PC for months, a new report suggests that isn't necessarily true.

According to Fightful Select (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), a WWE PC source said Styles has not been "running things," although he recently "filled in to finish a class."

The source added that The Phenomenal One is a "constant and positive presence" at the PC, and they expect him to "continue to gain influence."

Since retiring from in-ring competition in January, Styles has continued working with WWE in a backstage capacity.

Last week, Cory Hays of False Finish reported that current NXT head Shawn Michaels is expected to replace Bruce Prichard as WWE's executive director of creative writing and talent when Prichard retires next year, at which point Styles will take on Michaels' role in NXT and at the WWE PC.

While that may prove to be the case, Fightful's report suggests Styles has not gotten to that point yet, as he is merely helping out at the PC rather than running the show.

CM Punk Announces Status for John Cena Classic, Worlds Collide

CM Punk confirmed Tuesday that he will be part of two upcoming WWE shows at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.

Commenting on a WWE Instagram post (h/t Mukherjee) about the John Cena Classic on Dec. 14 and Worlds Collide on Dec. 15, Punk wrote, "I'm gonna work both shows."

During Monday night's episode of Raw, John Cena revealed additional details regarding the John Cena Classic, including its location. He also showed off the John Cena Classic Championship belt.

On top of that, Cena announced that Cody Rhodes is his first invitee to participate in the event.

Punk's post suggests he will wrestle a match as well in the John Cena Classic, which is being advertised as an opportunity for up-and-coming Superstars to prove themselves against established stars.

Along with the John Cena Classic, the co-branded WWE, NXT and AAA Worlds Collide was announced as part of WWE's takeover of the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Worlds Collide will be themed after the upcoming Marvel movie Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to release three days after the event.
