It took United less than 20 minutes to find the net, with the goal coming from one of the academy's more talented prospects. Tuanzebe rose well to meet a terrific corner delivered by Sean Goss with a thumping header to give United a lead the junior Red Devils just about merited.

United had controlled the game despite a cautious approach. They held their shape well to deny the hosts space to get their passing rhythm established.
Chelsea were frustrated, but not many teams can keep the precocious youths in their attack quiet for long. Sterling soon finished off a sweeping move that gifted striker Ike Ugbo was heavily involved in.
The Blues should have been ahead when Matthew Willock felled Mason Mount in the box. United had stopper O'Hara to thank for keeping the scores level after he saved superbly from Dasilva.
The setback didn't deter Chelsea, who continued to create excellent chances. Attacking midfielder Quintero particularly stood out as a conductor in the middle. His vision and stylish passing routinely exposed United between the lines.

Quintero couldn't engineer a second for Chelsea before the break, but it didn't take him long to put the home side in front after half-time. It was Dasilva who played provider this time, teeing up Quintero with a smart low cross.
Chances were few and far between after Quintero's finish, as United couldn't find a breakthrough against a Chelsea side that was comfortable controlling possession. Ugbo raised the excitement with one or two moments of wonderful skill and flair.
There was still time for Chelsea to get a third courtesy of Maddox, who had come off the bench to replace Quintero.

The Blues have the class in forward areas to beat any team in the division. Yet the young Blues still have to prove they can finish games consistently.
