Pac-12 Championship 2016: Colorado vs. Washington Live Score and Highlights

The Washington Huskies turned an opportunity in the Pac-12 Championship Game into a resounding 41-10 victory over the Colorado Buffaloes on Friday night to show a national television audience they belong in the College Football Playoff.

Chris Petersen's third year as the Huskies' head coach yielded the program's first conference championship since 2000 as the Buffaloes had no answer for Washington most of the night.

After taking a one-score lead in at the break, Washington got a pick-six from freshman defensive back Taylor Rapp on the first play of the second half. Then, he came right back and intercepted Buffs QB Sefo Liufau again to set up a field goal.

From there the Huskies rolled, despite an off night for Heisman Trophy quarterback candidate Jake Browning. As mediocre as his night was, though, it was nothing compared to Liufau's. The CU star senior hurt his leg on the first drive of the game, sat out the rest of the half and returned to throw three third-quarter picks.

He finished the game 3-of-13 for 21 yards. On the other side of the field, Washington was fueled by 159-yard performance from Myles Gaskin and another 101 rushing yards and a touchdown from Lavon Coleman as UW controlled the line of scrimmage throughout.

Now, it appears as if Washington could be on a collision course with top-ranked Alabama if things stay as they are. Even if they don't, it'll be tough for the selection committee to keep the Huskies out of the playoff.
