The Huskies made easy work of No. 23 Washington State 45-17 to win the Apple Cup and clinch the Pac-12 North:

Washington's well-rounded team has made it one of the surprises of the College Football Playoff landscape.

Behind quarterback and Heisman Trophy candidate Jake Browning's 3,162 yards and 40 passing touchdowns, Washington's offense is tied for third-best in the nation, scoring an average of 44.8 points per game.

On top of that, its defense is a top-10 unit, allowing just 17.8 points per game.

With a win, Washington could clinch its spot in the Top Four of the CFP rankings and contend for a national championship.

It will meet a Colorado team that put on an impressive defensive performance against Utah on Saturday night in a 27-22 win.

The Buffaloes defense recorded four turnovers, and five Utah red-zone trips resulted in just one touchdown:

That defense will have to be just as stout if it wants any shot of slowing down Washington come Friday.

Regardless, Colorado underwent a dramatic transformation in just one year. In 2015, the Buffaloes went 1-8 and were ranked last in the Pac-12 before going 8-1 in conference play to build a 10-2 overall record this year.
