Real Sociedad vs. Barcelona: Team News, Preview, Live Stream, TV Info

James DudkoNov 25, 2016

Barcelona can keep pace with bitter rivals Real Madrid at the top of La Liga by beating Real Sociedad at Anoeta on Sunday. However, Sociedad's home hasn't been a happy hunting ground for title contenders in recent seasons.

Atletico Madrid have already lost there this season, while Barca have been beaten at Anoeta on each of their last three visits in the league. Things can be different this time, though, with the Blaugrana's star-studded forward line hitting top form recently.

Here are the schedule and viewing details:

Stopping Barcelona means stopping the front three of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar. Good luck with that.

All three are in red-hot form, with Messi in particular prolific in front of goal at the moment. He recently bagged a brace to beat Celtic in the UEFA Champions League, goals that continued an incredible scoring run, per the tournament's official Twitter account:

However, it isn't all about Messi. Not when Neymar has been haunting defences with a creative streak no player in Europe's premier club competition has matched this season, according to OptaJoe:

Yet it hasn't all been plain sailing in the league. A side without Messi and Suarez drew 0-0 against Malaga at the Camp Nou last time out.

Fortunately, Messi will be fit enough to feature against Sociedad, while Suarez is back from suspension. It's tough to pick against Barcelona when all their firepower is intact.

Barca's main worry at the back involves centre-back Gerard Pique. The defender remains a doubt for the match, after missing a recent training session according to Sport-English.

Enrique needs his defence at full strength to keep Carlos Vela under wraps. The Mexican forward is the danger man for Sociedad, a player whose skill, flair and pace can decide any match when he's on form.

If Vela turns on the style, Barca will again play the role of victims on their least favourite ground. Still, Messi in this form can rewrite any negative history.
