Oklahoma vs. West Virginia: Live Score, Highlights for Sooners vs. Mountaineers
Oklahoma 56, West Virginia 28 — Final
West Virginia was hoping to get a signature win to boost its playoff resume, but it was all Oklahoma in Morgantown on Saturday night as the Sooners bulldozed their way to a 56-28 victory.
Running backs Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon led the way for a Sooners team that knew it could impose its will. Perine ran for 160 yards and two touchdowns, and Mixon added 147 and another score to pace an offense that threw the ball just 15 times.
That running duo helped Oklahoma (9-2) score the game’s first 34 points. It looked like the Sooners would cruise to an easy win when linebacker Jordan Evans returned an interception 80 yards to push the lead to 41-7, but West Virginia (8-2) fought back.
Fueled by running back Justin Crawford, who ran for an incredible 331 yards on 24 carries, and Skyler Howard, who accounted for 243 total yards and four touchdowns, the Mountaineers fought their way back into the game. Scoring 21 consecutive points in the third and fourth quarters, West Virginia pulled within 13 before Oklahoma shut the door on the rally.
