Virginia Tech vs. Notre Dame: Live Score and Highlights for Hokies vs. Irish
Notre Dame and Virginia Tech met for the first time ever Saturday, and if the results are any indication, they should get together more often. Notre Dame built leads of 17-0 and 24-7, but quarterback Jerod Evans and Virginia Tech put together a stirring comeback, outscoring the Irish 27-7 over the final two-plus quarters to grab a 34-31 win at Notre Dame Stadium.
The Hokies shook off last week's surprising loss to Georgia Tech to improve to 8-3. Meanwhile, Notre Dame lost its seventh game by a combined 32 points and fell to 4-7, clinching its first losing season of Brian Kelly's tenure and the second of Kelly's career.
Virginia Tech took its first lead on Joey Slye's 20-yard field goal with 4:16 left and made it hold up. The Hokies limited Notre Dame to five three-and-outs in the second half, with Josh Adams' 67-yard touchdown run the only outlier.
It was a fun game, although Fighting Irish fans probably aren't happy about losing yet another close game. Thanks for following along with us here at Bleacher Report.
