The Clemson Tigers are a great rebounding team as of late, going 10-0 straight up and 7-3 against the spread their last 10 times out following outright losses. Coming off an excruciating defeat against Pittsburgh last week, Clemson looks to rebound again when it visits Wake Forest on Saturday afternoon.

Why the Clemson Tigers can cover the spread
The Tigers were 9-0 on the season, heading toward a repeat performance at the College Football Playoff, but hit a speed bump last week by losing at home to Pitt 43-42 on a field goal in the final seconds. The game went back-and-forth all day, and while Clemson led 42-34 late, the Panthers scored the last nine points, snapping the Tigers' 15-game ACC winning streak.
Clemson had chances to ice the victory, but quarterback Deshaun Watson threw a terrible interception from the Pitt 3-yard line with six minutes to go, and running back Wayne Gallman got stuffed on a 4th-and-1 in Pitt territory with just under a minute to go, leading to the Panthers' game-winning kick.
Clemson outgained Pitt 630-464, as Watson hit on 52 of 70 passes for 580 yards and three touchdowns. Unfortunately, he also threw three interceptions, two inside the Pittsburgh red zone.
At 6-1 in conference play, the Tigers now trail 7-1 Louisville by a half-game for the lead in the Atlantic Division. But because they also own the tiebreaker over the Cardinals, a win Saturday sends them back to the ACC Championship Game.
Why the Wake Forest Demon Deacons can cover the spread
Wake is only 1-3 SU over its last four games but 4-1 ATS over its last five. Last week the Demon Deacons lost at Louisville 44-12 but hung on for the cover as 34-point dogs.
Wake Forest actually led the Cardinals 12-0 late into the second quarter and 12-10 into the fourth. But Louisville, as it's apt to do, exploded late, scoring five touchdowns in the fourth quarter, three in the last five minutes, to create a slightly misleading final score.
In running 73 plays, creating a 38/22 advantage in time of possession, the Deacons kept that vaunted Cardinals offense on the sidelines and stayed in the game.
At 6-4 overall, Wake is already bowl-eligible for the first time in five seasons.
Smart pick
Clemson is 7-0 SU over the last seven meetings with Wake Forest, 4-3 ATS, winning by an average of 24 points per game. And thanks to last week's loss, style points come into play again for the Tigers if they want to get back to the CFP. The smart money gives the points in this spot.
