Wake Forest vs. Louisville: Live Score and Highlights

David RegimbalNov 12, 2016

Louisville 44, Wake Forest 12 — Final

Wake Forest (6-4) had No. 6 Louisville (9-1) on the ropes for much of the night, but running back Brandon Radcliff played the hero, scoring three second-half touchdowns to spark a rally and a 44-12 win.

The Demon Deacons defense completely shut Lamar Jackson and Co. down in the first half, allowing just 128 total yards while building a surprising 12-3 halftime lead. But the Cardinals came alive in the second half, and it wasn’t Jackson taking over, per usual, but rather Radcliff.

The Louisville running back consistently gashed the Wake Forest defense, running for 141 yards on just 11 carries. Lamar Jackson did damage on the ground as well, gaining 153 yards, but he completed just 14 of 26 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown.

Wake Forest had complete control of the game in the first half and had four trips inside the red zone, but it came away with four field goals, which ultimately spoiled its upset bid. The defense completely fell apart in the second half and surrendered 41 unanswered points.
