LSU vs. Arkansas: Live Score, Highlights for Tigers vs. Razorbacks
The boot-shaped trophy is heading back to Louisiana after LSU stomped Arkansas, 38-10, on Saturday night in the rivalry affectionately known as the Battle of the Boot.
The Tigers ripped off 548 yards of offense against a Razorbacks defense that had few answers all night, especially for LSU's vaunted rushing duo of Leonard Fournette and Derrius Guice. Fournette had three touchdowns but spent a good chunk of the second half on the bench with a non-serious ankle injury.
All Guice did was finish with 252 yards on 21 carries, capped by a 96-yard touchdown run that silenced Fayetteville and ensured LSU's two-year drought in this game would be over. This was after the super sophomore had just two carries in last week's loss to Alabama.
Really, though, the game wasn't in question at that point.
This Razorbacks defense more closely resembled the one that endured an embarrassing 56-3 loss to Auburn than the one that handled Florida last week.
Meanwhile, LSU interim coach Ed Orgeron's team took another step toward helping him shed that "interim" label. It may be a long shot that the Tigers retain him, but they're a different team under his tutelage.
They shook off last week's 10-0 loss to the Crimson Tide and came out strong. The Tigers closed that way, too.
