Mississippi State vs. Alabama: Live Score and Highlights
Alabama 51, Mississippi State 3 — Final
There was concern that Alabama would have a bit of a hangover after its 10-0 slugfest of a victory over LSU last week, but that wasn’t the case as quarterback Jalen Hurts fueled a 51-3 rout of Mississippi State Saturday afternoon.
The top-ranked Crimson Tide (10-0) absolutely gashed the Bulldogs defense for 610 total yards. Hurts did most of the damage, accounting for 447 yards (347 passing, 100 rushing) to complement five touchdowns. His top target was wideout ArDarius Stewart, who had a record day with eight catches for 156 yards and three touchdowns.
Mississippi State’s Nick Fitzgerald came into the game as one of the hottest quarterbacks in the SEC and was fresh off of touching Texas A&M for 391 total yards and four touchdowns in an upset win, but he was completely shut down by the Tide. The Bulldogs (4-6) managed just 282 total yards, and Fitzgerald’s three-game streak of at least 100 rushing yards was snapped on Saturday.
