Paul George Fined for Kicking Ball into Stands: Details, Comments and Reaction

Alec NathanNov 8, 2016

Indiana Pacers forward Paul George was fined $15,000 for kicking a ball into the stands during the team's game against the Chicago Bulls on Nov. 5, according to USA Today's Jeff Zillgitt.

In addition to being slapped with a technical foul, George was ejected in the third quarter of the 111-94 loss:

George is earning $18.3 million this season, so $15,000 is a slap on the wrist from a financial perspective.

But as far as on-court performance is concerned, the Pacers' inability to mesh over the first two weeks of the season has caused some serious frustration.

"We're all out of whack," George said Monday, according to the Indianapolis Star's Nate Taylor. "There's no trust, there's no chemistry, there's no belief. We're kind of just lifeless right now."

The 3-4 Pacers have lost four of six games following a season-opening win over the Dallas Mavericks, and their defense has floundered under the leadership of new head coach Nate McMillan.

Seven games into the season, Indiana is ranked 28th in the league in defensive rating, allowing 111.4 points per 100 possessions. Opponents are also shooting a league-high 47.5 percent against the Pacers to go with a 35.3 percent conversion rate from three.

A pair of games against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday and Friday should help get the Pacers back on track before they host the Boston Celtics on Nov. 12.
