Louisville vs. Boston College: Live Score, Highlights for Cardinals vs. Eagles

Brian MarronNov 5, 2016

Louisville 52, Boston College 7. Game Over.

After some inconsistent outings of late, the Louisville Cardinals came out strong and stomped a physical defensive team in Boston College.

Heisman favorite Lamar Jackson showed that his previous performances against Duke and Virginia were nothing to be concerned about, as he absolutely went off on the Eagles.

Jackson accounted for seven total touchdowns in just three quarters of play, racking up 231 yards and four scores through the air to go with 179 yards and three scores on the ground. Boston College entered this game with a top-five rushing defense nationally, but the Eagles were unable to contain Jackson, as he glided past defenders with other-worldly quickness and lightning speed.

The sophomore was not perfect though. He threw a poor interception, and his second-half fumble led to Boston College's only score of the day.

Receivers James Quick and Jaylen Smith also turned in nice days for the Cardinals. Each was able to get behind the secondary with ease, as Quick caught three passes for 78 yards and two touchdowns while Smith grabbed six throws for 123 yards and a score.

Boston College needed to control the ball and keep Jackson off of the field with its offense to win, and that did not happen at all. The Eagles mustered just 207 yards of offense, going 4-for-16 on third down.

Louisville received some much-needed style points with the win, since its remaining schedule lacks any real punch. The Cardinals will travel to face Wake Forest next week, while Boston College travels to Florida State.
