La Liga Table 2016: Latest Standings Following Friday's Week 10 Results
Real Sociedad moved into the top six of the 2016-17 La Liga standings with a 2-0 win over Leganes on Friday.
Willian Jose and Xabi Prieto took care of the scoring, giving the Basques their fifth win of the season and third in their last four matches. Despite a shaky start, La Real's La Liga campaign seems to be taking off.
The rest of La Liga will be in action during the weekend and on Monday.

Recap
Leganes came into Friday's clash with just one win in their last four outings but a reasonable record at home, and given Sociedad's struggles away from the Anoeta, the hosts had to feel good about their chances.
Any optimism evaporated rapidly, however. La Real were by far the better team in the capital from the opening kick-off on Friday, and Jose deservedly gave his side the lead with a strong header just before the half-hour mark.
Sports writer Jeremy Beren noticed the forward has struggled on the road this season:
Leganes barely threatened during the first half, firing a couple of long-range shots at goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli and doing little else.
As shared by OptaJose, the hosts were really disappointing in the first half:
They improved after the break, but the best chances kept falling to La Real, with Asier Illarramendi going close with a shot. David Zurutuza also squandered a good chance before Prieto gave the visitors a bit of room to work with, doubling the lead.
Carlos Vela had a header saved, and Robert Ibanez fired Leganes' best chance over the bar before the match came to an end.
The win is La Real's second in a row and takes them above bitter rivals Athletic Bilbao in the standings. Bilbao beat Sociedad 3-2 in Week 8, and the two teams seem set to battle for a European ticket all season.

Athletic will play Osasuna on Sunday, while Villarreal take on Eibar. The rest of La Liga's top contenders will all feature on Saturday.
Leaders Real Madrid visit a slumping Alaves squad and should cruise past the new La Liga side. Alaves are winless in their last three and have only won two matches in La Liga this season. But as reported by Javier Garcia of the club's official website, manager Zinedine Zidane won't overlook the minnows:
"I'm expecting a difficult, complicated game. They are unbeaten at home and doing really well. We know how difficult the game will be and what we have to do is recognise how difficult it will be. If we bear that in mind and give the required level of concentration, as we have been doing recently, then things will be different. That is our thinking in preparation for the game.
The players are aware that if we want something at the end of the season we have to do as we are doing now in every single game.
"
Barcelona are also expected to enjoy a comfortable outing on Saturday, as they host last-placed Granada, the only team yet to win a single match in La Liga this season.
Second-placed Sevilla visit Sporting Gijon, who recently ended their lengthy losing streak with a draw against Granada, and Atletico Madrid host Malaga.
