Lionel Messi Appears to Curse at Valencia Fans Who Threw Objects at Barcelona
Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi didn't have to contend with just the Valencia defense on his way to a brace during Saturday's 3-2 victory.
After scoring the winner from the penalty spot in the 94th minute, Messi celebrated with his teammates in front of the Curva Nord stand at Mestalla Stadium. While the teammates were huddled together, a fan threw a bottle that struck Luis Suarez and Neymar, per ESPN FC.
After the two players fell to the pitch, Messi appeared to direct a profanity-filled tirade at the fans while shrugging off teammates who seemingly urged him to fall back, via beIN Sports USA:

The goal was bad enough to get the Valencia fans going, but it didn't help when Messi appeared to blow a kiss toward the stands.

There has been no word on any possible punishment for either Messi or the Valencia fans moving forward, but given the passion that surrounds the game, major soccer leagues around the world have to try to limit possibilities for fans to interact with players on the pitch.
