NC State's Kyle Bambard Misses Game-Winning 33-Yard Field-Goal Try vs. Clemson

Andrew GouldOct 15, 2016

NC State had a golden opportunity to upset No. 3 Clemson on Saturday. With two seconds remaining in regulation, the Wolfpack sent out Kyle Bambard to kick a potential game-winning 33-yard field goal.

Set up in the middle of the field, Bambard missed the kick wide right. His third miss of the afternoon sent the game to overtime tied at 17.

The Tigers capitalized on their second chance when Deshaun Watson tossed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Artavis Scott. Given an opportunity to match, NC State quarterback Ryan Finley surrendered an end-zone interception to Marcus Edmond on the opening play of the ensuing drive.
