Predicting Top Movers
After a come-from-behind win in a rivalry game against No. 10 Miami, Florida State might have just saved its season on Saturday night.
Entering the night at No. 23, Florida State had a defense that allowed an average of 45 points per game in its previous three matchups, two of them losses to Louisville and North Carolina.
The Seminoles only gave up 19 to Miami in a 20-19 win, and it should help them make a nice jump, given the amount of Top 25 teams that went down this week.
However, Florida State didn't have the biggest win of the week. That honor belongs to Navy, which outlasted No. 6 Houston, 46-40, surely ending the Cougars' playoff hopes.
In doing so, the Midshipmen may have made a charge toward the Top 25 despite not receiving a single vote for the polls last week.
Navy is 4-1 with its only loss coming to an Air Force team that garnered 17 votes for a ranking in Week 6.
Before that 28-14 loss and the upset of Houston, Navy also took care of Fordham, UConn and Tulane.
A few teams that had a bye week or a game postponed due to Hurricane Matthew could also see a nice bump in the polls due to the losses of ranked teams.
