Oklahoma vs. TCU: Live Score, Highlights for Sooners vs. Horned Frogs
Oklahoma 52, TCU 46. Game Over.
It certainly was not pretty, but Oklahoma found a way to hang on and earn a crucial road win over the TCU Horned Frogs.
After a shaky first quarter, the Sooners overcame a 21-7 deficit to take complete control of the game. Entering the final frame with a 25-point lead, Oklahoma nearly collapsed thanks to porous pass defense and questionable offensive play-calling.
Still, Oklahoma's defense came up with a game-winning stop, and quarterback Baker Mayfield made enough plays down the stretch to pull out a much-needed victory.
Mayfield finished with 274 yards and two touchdowns throwing while adding 55 yards and a pair of scores running. The rushing attack paced the Oklahoma offense, as Joe Mixon racked up 105 yards and a score on 16 carries, and Samaje Perine added 17 rushes for 98 yards and two touchdowns.
Despite a midgame lull, TCU quarterback Kenny Hill came alive in the fourth quarter to turn in a sensational performance. He ended the night with 449 yards and five touchdowns passing, while receiver Taj Williams made a living behind the Oklahoma defense for five catches, 210 yards and two scores.
Defense was optional for most of the night, but these teams were able to combine for an exciting affair that could have important implications in the Big 12 race. Oklahoma will take on rival Texas next weekend, while TCU travels to play Kansas.
