The Cardinals were dialed in from their first drive, and Jackson's legs did the bulk of the damage early against a banged-up Seminoles defense.

Along with 68 first-quarter passing yards, Jackson piled up five carries for 54 yards and two touchdowns. The first came in ankle-breaking fashion inside the 5-yard line, as College GameDay documented on Twitter:

Jackson added a second rushing score on the Cardinals' next drive to put Louisville up 14-0, at which point Yahoo Sports' Dr. Saturday wondered if it was too early to anoint the signal-caller September's most dynamic player:

With his second rushing touchdown of the game, Jackson joined Colin Kaepernick and Taylor Martinez as the only FBS quarterbacks to tally at least two scores on the ground in the first three games of a season, according to ESPN Stats & Info

Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman took note of the way Louisville—led by Jacksongashed a Florida State defense that has generally been sound against the run:

Jackson tacked on his first passing touchdown of the game to help give the Cardinals a 28-10 edge, and his third scoring scamper capped off a six-play, 71-yard drive with 12 seconds to go before halftime.

With the Cardinals in control, Jackson received praise in the form of a lofty comparison from Smart Football's Chris B. Brown:

Vick later chimed in on the similarities between the two players' skill sets:

By the time the first half came to a close, Jackson had helped Louisville pad its outrageous offensive numbers even more. According to Feldman, the Cardinals compiled 167 points over their first 10 quarters of the 2016 season, with Jackson accounting for 18 touchdowns in that span.

Jackson didn't have an abundance of opportunities to light it up after the Cardinals took a 42-10 lead after a punt-return touchdown just over a minute into the second half, but he didn't let that massive margin dampen his hopes of churning out a signature Heisman moment.

Shortly after the fourth quarter started, Jackson bolted past the line of scrimmage and torched the Florida State defense for a 47-yard rushing touchdown that left would-be Seminoles tacklers gazing up at a blur of red as they gasped for breath.

With Jackson's fourth rushing touchdown of the day in tow, ESPNU and College Football Talk took stock of the Heisman race entering Week 4 of the regular season:

Cleveland Browns fans, your thoughts?

While the sophomore signal-caller won't be eligible for the draft for another season, his dual-threat stylings are tantalizing. And since he's still 19 years old, it's terrifying to consider what Jackson could accomplish as he continues to mature and evolve as a pocket passer in head coach Bobby Petrino's offense.

With a matchup looming against the Marshall Thundering Herd next week, Jackson should be salivating at another glorious chance to pad his Heisman resume before the Cardinals travel to Clemson on Oct. 1 for one of the season's most electric games.
