Steve Sarkisian Hired to Be Alabama Offensive Analyst
Former USC Trojans head football coach Steve Sarkisian has landed a role on the Alabama Crimson Tide coaching staff as an offensive analyst.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban confirmed to reporters he had hired Sarkisian, adding he's "glad to have [Sarkisian] as part of the organization."
Sarkisian was first linked to the Crimson Tide in a Sunday report from the Tuscaloosa News' Aaron Suttles (h/t TideSports.com).
USC fired Sarkisian in October after he took an indefinite leave of absence following alleged incidents involving his use of alcohol around the team.
Shortly after the coach's dismissal, SB Nation's Cyd Zeigler reported that he checked himself into a rehabilitation program.
Sarkisian later filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against USC. The proceedings reportedly moved to binding arbitration, with the 42-year-old seeking to recoup the $12.6 million remaining on his deal plus unspecified damages, according to the Los Angeles Times' Nathan Fenno.
Sarkisian will reunite with Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin after the two served as assistants under Pete Carroll at USC last decade, per Suttles.
