Denis Law Hospitalized After Collapsing on Plane at Manchester Airport
Former Manchester United striker Denis Law was taken to hospital on Saturday after he collapsed on a plane ahead of a family holiday.
As Paul Britton of the Manchester Evening News reported, Law was set to travel to Menorca in Spain with his wife Diana from Manchester Airport when he lost consciousness. The 76-year-old was then taken to Trafford General Hospital and released after tests were run.
"I went white and did not feel well at all," said Law, United's third-highest goalscorer of all time, to the Sun (h/t Britton). "The next thing I collapsed while in my seat. I feel better now, but I'm having tests as it's happened a few times in the past few years. It's not pleasant; one time I thought I'd snuffed it. Hopefully I'll be able to join the holiday soon."

According to Britton, doctors diagnosed the episode as a "vasovagal attack," which is a "sudden fainting episode caused by a number of different triggers."
Former Tottenham Hotspur star Osvaldo Ardiles sent Law his best wishes on Twitter:
Law, who also twice played for Manchester City during his storied career, is a United legend after netting 237 goals for the club. His partnership with George Best and Sir Bobby Charlton was iconic at Old Trafford, as he helped the Red Devils win the European Cup in 1968 and two league titles.

The former Scotland striker recovered from prostate cancer in 2003 and, as Britton noted, is actively involved in charities such as Cancer UK and Meningitis Now.
