Gareth Bale Reportedly Hired Tagomago Island to Propose to Emma Rhys-Jones
Gareth Bale reportedly spared no expense when proposing to fiancee Emma Rhys-Jones and hired the entire island of Tagomago at an eye-watering cost of €460,000 (£390,000) per week.
The winger celebrated his 27th birthday in style and decided to pop the question while he was at it after renting the island in the Balearics close to Ibiza, per Spanish newspaper AS.

The substantial outlay means Bale paid a gargantuan sum of €65,000 (£55,000) per day for his private piece of paradise, where long-term sweetheart Rhys-Jones agreed to become his wife.
After leading Wales to the UEFA Euro 2016 semi-finals and helping Real Madrid become European champions, it was the perfect end to an almost perfect season, although Coral noted it could have ended on a sour note:
Bale made sure he took to Twitter to celebrate the announcement, too:
According to AS, Bale raked in a €600,000 (£500,000) sum for winning the UEFA Champions League with Los Blancos, meaning he didn't even have to touch his £300,000-a-week wages to hire Tagomago.
And some people can't even book a table on Valentine's Day.
