The most dominant performance by any team in Euro 2016’s round of 16 has propelled Belgium into the quarterfinals against Wales on Friday in Villeneuve-d’Ascq.

The Belgians routed Hungary 4-0 to advance and are listed as -137 favorites (bet $137 to win $100) on the three-way line at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark. The Welsh got by Northern Ireland 1-0 and are large underdogs this week.

Wales is fortunate to be in this spot after failing to defeat England in Group B play and then drawing a favorable matchup with Northern Ireland in the round of 16. A 3-0 rout of Russia remains the biggest win of the tournament for the Welsh. Not much stock should be placed in that result, though, considering the Russians went 0-1-2 and were outscored 6-2 in the three games.

Meanwhile, Belgium was expected to be here as one of the tourney favorites, currently sitting at +400 behind only Germany (+275) and host France (+300). The Belgians allowed one more goal than Italy to lose the tiebreaker and finish second in Group E despite totaling the same number of points (six) and fell 3-0 to the Italians in the opener.

Since then, they have outscored their opponents 8-0 in their last three games, showing flashes of the dominant form that saw them finish sixth in the 2014 World Cup after failing to qualify for Euro 2012.

On paper, Wales has virtually no chance in this game. The team’s lack of quality competition throughout the tournament so far will work against it. That same weakness is a strength of Belgium and could eventually help push them into the final on July 10 in Saint-Denis.

If the Belgians can score an early goal like they did versus the Hungarians in the 10th minute, this one could be over early. Granted, they scored three of their goals against Hungary from the 78th minute on, but that just shows how things can snowball out of control in a hurry with this team.

The Welsh will be lucky to even score in this match and needed an own goal in the 75th minute to knock out Northern Ireland. Belgium simply has too much firepower and will win easily to advance to the semifinals against another team that has trouble scoring in Poland or Portugal.

Belgium vs. Wales Prediction: 3-0 Belgium
