Copa America Schedule 2016: Live Stream, TV Info, Odds for Wednesday's Group

Tom BeckJun 7, 2016

Brazil will be looking to leapfrog Peru to the top of Group B when they take on minnows Haiti on Wednesday in their second group fixture of Copa America Centenario.

Dunga's side opened their account for the tournament with a goalless draw against Ecuador and will be eager to bounce back at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando. Meanwhile, their previous opponents take on Ricardo Gareca's side in Arizona at the University of Phoenix Stadium.

Peru have a two-point advantage at the summit of the leaderboard following the first round of matches after Paolo Guerrero scored the only goal of the game against Haiti last time out.

Haiti Hoping to Stun Selecao

Brazil were forced to make hard work of Ecuador in their opening clash of the Copa America, as neither side managed to break the deadlock at the Rose Bowl in California.

Indeed, it was actually Gustavo Quinteros' men who came closest to registering a goal after Gremio striker Miller Bolanos saw his effort disallowed after the referee ruled the ball had already crossed the line of play.

Per Rupert Fryer of Goal, Dunga made wholesale changes to his starting XI ahead of the contest, with six fresh faces lining up. The 1994 World Cup-winning captain will have been satisfied with the performance of Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Marquinhos in particular for his calmness on the ball and defensive awareness.

Similarly, between the sticks Allison enjoyed the ball at his feet, as Brazilian football expert Fryer noted:

Against the FIFA world-ranked No. 74 side, the Selecao should largely be untested in their own third, with the five-time World Cup winners possessing several of the world's most creative players, including Willian, Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Moura.

Benfica striker Jonas failed to make a telling impact during his 62-minute performance against La Tri, however the introduction of Santos starlet Gabriel failed to present the desired effect. Against Haiti, the Brazil front line should have more space and time to showcase their attacking talents.

In spite of the absence of Barcelona forward Neymar, Brazil's attacking talent should overwhelm their upcoming opponents.

The Haitians, participating in their first Copa tournament, held their nerve for much of the contest against Peru but were eventually beaten through Guerrero's fine diving header in the second period. That goal signalled the Flamengo striker's 27th goal for the national team, making him Los Incas' all-time record goalscorer after overtaking legendary Teofilo Cubillas, per FIFA.com.

The official Copa America account replayed Guerrero's fine header on the hour mark:

Gareca's side—who finished in third place one year ago—took a big step towards sealing a place in the next round of the competition with their narrow victory.

Key players are missing from this year's crop, most notably the experienced trident Claudio Pizarro, Jefferson Farfan and Juan Manuel Vargas. In addition, right-back Luis Advincula has also been left out of the squad.

Peru's young squad must be wary of the attacking talent Ecuador possess, with West Ham United's Enner Valencia and Bolanos combining well in the final third. Antonio Valencia continues to terrorise defences down the right flank, while Swansea City attacker Jefferson Montero can tie full-backs in knots on occasions.

With title rivals Argentina beginning their Copa campaign with a convincing 2-1 win over Chile in the final match of the first round fixtures, Brazil will be hoping to register a strong display against the tournament's least experienced side.

Meanwhile, in the day's other clash, the two evenly matched sides will be eager to maintain their unbeaten start to the tournament.
