Golden State Warriors vs. Oklahoma City Thunder: Live Score, Analysis for Game 6
Klay Thompson hit an NBA-playoff record 11 three-pointers en route to 41 points, Stephen Curry added 29 points, and the Golden State Warriors stunned the Oklahoma City Thunder, 108-101, at Chesapeake Energy Arena on Saturday night to force a Game 7 in the Western Conference Finals.
The Thunder were in control for most of this game, and up until the last couple of minutes, it looked like they had things well in hand.
Then, they unraveled.
Oklahoma City's fourth-quarter demons returned in Game 6, as Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook fell into the trap of iso-ball, forcing contested shots and committing turnovers that led to buckets for the Warriors on the other end.
Golden State ended the contest on a 9-0 run over the final 2:22, as OKC turned the ball over five times during that stretch.
Thompson gave the Warriors a 104-101 lead with his 11th triple at the 1:35 mark, and Golden State never looked back.
The Thunder actually led by as many as 13 in the first half, but missed three-pointers (3-of-23) and free throws (22-of-32) prevented them from extending their advantage.
Thompson shot 14-of-30 overall, going 11-of-18 from long range.
Curry totaled 10 rebounds and nine assists in addition to his scoring output, going 8-of-21 from the floor and nailing six treys.
Durant scored 29 points but went just 10-of-31 from the field in a performance that mirrored his 7-of-33 outing against in Game 2 against the Dallas Mavericks in the first round.
Westbrook had 28 points and 11 assists and shot 10-of-27.
Game 7 will be at Oracle Arena on Monday night.
