After losing 1-0 to Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, Bayern Munich faced an uphill battle at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday evening.

Pep Guardiola's side needed to score against Diego Simeone's highly defensive outfit to stand a chance of making the final, and Robert Lewandowski came close to breaking the deadlock in the 20th minute:
