Cleveland Browns' Mock Draft and Big Board: Updated Day 3 Predictions
The final day of the 2016 NFL draft is here.
The Cleveland Browns have had a productive draft thus far while addressing some of their biggest needs. Now, they'll look to cap off their first draft of the Hue Jackson/Sashi Brown era as Day 3 of the draft begins.
As good as they did in the first two rounds, they need to continue their success throughout Rounds 4-7 to help lay a solid foundation for this franchise to become a winner again. While these rounds don't get as much fanfare as Rounds 1-3, this is when many NFL superstars finally heard their names called.
Antonio Brown, Richard Sherman, Geno Atkins, Kam Chancellor and Tom Brady are just some of the many great NFL players who've heard their names called between Rounds 4 and 7.
That's why this is still a exciting day, not to mention one that can go a long way in making Cleveland great again.
Top-100 Big Board
1 of 4Now that Days 1 and 2 of the draft have passed, I updated Cleveland's big board to reflect players who are now gone after being drafted in the first three rounds.
As mentioned in the previous slide, there's still plenty of talent on the board for the Browns to nab. It's not out of the question that they could land multiple starting-caliber players in these rounds.
To recap, our Browns big board is based on the team's biggest positions of need. That's also accounting for the team's offensive and defensive systems.
I also removed a number of prospects who have significant off-field issues. Here's a look at my updated big board as Day 3 of the draft begins.

Round 4
2 of 4
Round 4, Pick No. 99: Andrew Billings, NT, Baylor
Cleveland enters Round 4 with eight picks in the final four rounds of the draft with the first two (99 and 100) in the fourth round.
That begins with the first two picks of this round as the Browns once again kick off a day in the draft. For this pick, they land what may be the biggest steal in this draft in Baylor's Andrew Billings.
Regarded as one of the best defensive linemen in this draft, Billings has fallen all the way to Day 3 of the draft for reasons unknown. Whatever it is, Cleveland should be able to make Billings a Brown if everything checks out.
Round 4, Pick No. 100 (from Philadelphia): Jerell Adams, TE, South Carolina
After not adding any tight end depth thus far, Cleveland opts to take the best one on the board.
Not only does Jerell Adams give Cleveland a tight end, but he also has the potential to be a force in the NFL. A physical specimen at 6'5" and 247 pounds, Adams finished his South Carolina career with 66 catches for 977 yards and seven touchdowns.
In 2015, Adams had 28 catches for 421 yards and three touchdowns. Though Cleveland has a stud at this position in Pro Bowl tight end Gary Barnidge, pairing Adams with him would make for a dangerous tandem for any NFL defense to face.
Round 4, Pick No. 129 (from Carolina): Jordan Howard, RB, Indiana
While running back isn't really a need area for Cleveland, Indiana's Jordan Howard is too good of a back to pass up at this point.
Howard finished this past season with 1,213 rushing yards and nine scores. He was one of the best backs in college football when he was on the field.
However, injury concerns limited Howard this past season. That's why he falls all the way to Round 4 in this simulation as NFL teams worry if he'll hold up in the pros.
However, Cleveland has depth at running back that keeps Howard from getting too many carries. He adds some explosion to the Browns offense.
Round 4, Pick No. 138 (compensatory): Joshua Perry LB, Ohio State
The Browns enter Day 3 having yet to add a linebacker who likely plays on the inside of Ray Horton's 3-4 defense.
Though Joshua Perry played outside linebacker in Ohio State's 4-3 defense, he's good enough to play as a 3-4 inside linebacker and still be effective. He's been one of the Big Ten's best 'backers during his college career, which included a national championship.
Hopefully, Perry is able to bring that championship pedigree to Cleveland and help make the Browns a winner again.
Round 5
3 of 4Round 5, Pick No. 168 (from Carolina): K.J. Dillon, S, West Virginia
Safety is one of the biggest areas of need for Cleveland in Day 3 of the draft.
At this spot, the best one on the board is West Virginia's K.J. Dillon. The 6'0", 210-pound Dillon had two quality seasons as a starter for the Mountaineers from 2014 to 2015.
Over that span, Dillon racked up 111 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 14 pass deflections and four interceptions. That kind of production in a Power Five conference bodes well for his pro future.
With Donte Whitner and Tashaun Gipson gone, Dillon will earn playing time as a rookie.
Round 5, Pick No. 172: Spencer Drango, OL, Baylor
The Browns need to come out of Day 3 with at least one more offensive lineman.
Preferably, this will be a guy who projects as both a possible guard or tackle in the NFL. That's exactly the case with Baylor's Spencer Drango.
Though Drango was a high-level performer with Baylor as an offensive tackle, there's concern if he'll be able to translate his game to the pros. He may be in for a move to guard at the NFL, which is where the Browns need more help.
Either way, Drango is too good of a lineman in college to let him fall any further.
Round 5, Pick No. 173 (compensatory pick): Jonathan Jones, CB, Auburn
For this pick, Cleveland looks to upgrade a secondary that has a lot of issues.
It comes at cornerback as Auburn's Jonathan Jones becomes a Brown. The 5'9", 186-pound Jones was a four-year starter during his college career, so he has plenty of experience playing at a high level in a Power Five conference.
An All-SEC selection in 2015, Jones registered seven interceptions, 24 pass breakups and 105 tackles over the past two seasons. He also ran a blistering 4.33 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine.
With Cleveland aging at cornerback, Jones could develop into a starter with a few years of seasoning.
Round 7
4 of 4
Round 7, Pick No. 223: Daniel Braverman, WR, Western Michigan
Though the Browns have already addressed wide receiver, they still look to take whoever the best player available here is.
For this scenario, it ends up being Western Michigan receiver Daniel Braverman. He has the potential to be the biggest steal of this draft.
The 5'10", 177-pound Braverman is exactly what you look for in an NFL slot receiver. Though he needs to put on some more weight to last in the pros, he has all the tools to be a productive pass-catcher for the Browns.
This past season, Braverman had 1,371 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. That included big games against Top 10 teams Michigan State and Ohio State. He comes in and fights for a starting spot in the slot as a rookie, and the Browns end their draft on a high note.
