Adam WellsApr 29, 2016

Evan Turner agreed to move on from the Boston Celtics on Friday, signing a four-year, $70 million contract with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical passed along word of the agreement.

The 27-year-old Turner joined the Celtics in September 2014, jump-starting his career after appearing to be a bust as the No. 2 overall pick in 2010.

He averaged 10.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists and shot a career-high 45.6 percent from the field with the Celtics in 2015-16, per Basketball-Reference.com. Boston head coach Brad Stevens found the ideal role for Turner coming off the bench behind Avery Bradley.

However, Turner's role expanded against the Atlanta Hawks in the playoffs. When Bradley suffered a hamstring injury in Game 1 that kept him out for the next five games, Turner started the final four games of the series.
