Charlotte Hornets vs. Miami Heat: Live Score, Analysis for Game 5
Marvin Williams had 17 points and the Charlotte Hornets outlasted the Miami Heat, 90-88, at American Airlines Arena on Wednesday night to take a 3-2 lead in their first-round Eastern Conference playoff series.
The Heat jumped out to a good start in this game, taking a 14-6 lead right out of the gate, but the Hornets responded with a quick 14-0 run.
By the second quarter, Charlotte had built itself a 12-point lead, and Miami was reeling.

However, the Heat closed the half strong, getting big-time slams from Luol Deng and Dwyane Wade to help trim the deficit to two, 49-47, heading into the break.
Miami then proceeded to control the third period, holding the Hornets to 16 points and taking a 71-65 lead into the final frame.
But, Charlotte would not be denied.
Thanks to some big three-pointers down the stretch from Courtney Lee, Marvin Williams and a hobbled Nicolas Batum, the Hornets were able to do just enough to gut out a huge road win.
Lee hit a triple with 25 seconds remaining to put Charlotte up 90-88, and that would ultimately be the final score.
Dwyane Wade, who led all scorers with 25, missed a shot inside on the Heat's final possession. Wade was irate that there was no foul call on Cody Zeller, who appeared to make contact with the 2-guard. However, officials ruled Zeller went straight up.
The Hornets went 12-of-24 from beyond the arc, and that ended up being the difference in the game. The Heat made just five treys.
Game 6 is at Time Warner Cable Arena on Friday night.
