Marco Wilson to Florida: Gators Land 4-Star CB Prospect
Marco Wilson has been lauded as one of the most refined cornerbacks in the class of 2017, and on Monday, he announced via his Twitter that his polished skill set will be put to use at Florida:

Gators head coach Jim McElwain was pretty excited that he was able to ink such a talented young corner:
A 4-star recruit out of American Heritage High School, Wilson ranks 214th overall in 247Sports' composite rankings for the class of 2017, and 27th among all cornerbacks. The shutdown presence along the boundary also ranks a stellar 34th among all 2017 recruits in the recruiting hotbed of Florida.
Although people have praised Wilson for his ability to play both press-man and off-ball coverage, per Scout.com's official analysis, he became recognized nationally after flashing his tremendous athleticism in a clip that quickly went viral:
Although Wilson sat out his junior season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL, he took away several positives from the perceived setback.
"I gained a lot of upper-body strength," Wilson said, according to the Miami Herald. "Also, mentally, I paid attention to more things throughout the game. Watching my teammates play, I learned how offenses line up, how to watch receivers. I think everything happens for a reason, so it just makes me more hungry because I really miss the game of football. It makes me play harder."
That sort of mature approach should serve Wilson well at the next level, where he'll need to stay tough mentally in order to earn a significant role on a team full of seasoned contributors.
But based on the way Wilson has handled himself to this point, it seems like only a matter of time before he's lining up as a starter under the bright collegiate lights.
