Sassuolo Goalkeeper Andrea Consigli Scores Comedy Own Goal Against Fiorentina

Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli suffered a moment that will haunt him for years to come on Sunday, when he somehow managed to spoon the ball into his own net while playing against Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

The home side led 2-1 with 84 minutes gone in the Serie A clash, when an innocuous back pass was played toward Consigli in the Sassuolo goal.

Keen to keep the ball moving with his team trailing and time running out, the Italian goalkeeper attempted to spread the ball out wide.

But Consigli got his kick completely wrong and succeeded only in dragging the ball into the gaping net beside him.

His humiliated reaction tells you he knew he'd messed up straight away.
