Barcelona Transfer News: Latest on Paul Pogba and Arda Turan Rumours

Tom BeckApr 8, 2016

Paul Pogba could be edging toward a move to La Liga after Barcelona icon Neymar claimed the Juventus playmaker would “fit well” at the Camp Nou club, per La Liga's official website (via the Daily Mail's Simeon Gholam).

France international Pogba has enjoyed great success with Juve in Serie A over recent years, helping the club lift a trio of successive scudettos following his arrival from Manchester United in 2012.

The 23-year-old has become a vital cog in manager Massimiliano Allegri’s dominant Turin outfit with constantly strong performances. He has the ability to dazzle defences with his array of versatile skills, sublime close control and deft first-touch control.

The complete midfielder is a regular contributor in the goals department and has the physical strength to make opponents look inferior.

It's not all for show; Pogba contributes well in the final third, as OptaPaolo noted:

The Frenchman has become one of the most sought-after attacking talents in world football, with European heavyweights—including Barcelona—all chasing the precocious attacker.

Per La Liga's official website (via Gholam), Neymar admitted he is a fan of the Juve creative.

"He is young, and I like how he plays," he said. "I would love to swap shirts with him, and I think he would fit well at Barcelona. I have kept many shirts that mean a lot to me. The first as a professional, the first with Barcelona, the team have many. And shirts belonging to idols of mineRobinho, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho."

Former midfield partner Andrea Pirlo previously commented that Pogba would leave the Bianconeri for only a "world-record" fee, per David Anderson of the Mirror.

"Of course, Juventus will want to keep him. But sometimes you can get to a transfer fee that you can rebuild an entire team with and he would get to that fee," Pirlo said last week. "At his age, you can build a team around him for the next years. If he does decide to leave, then I think it will be for a world record."

In contrast to that potential arrival, Barca could yet see tricky winger Arda Turan depart the Catalan club for a big-money move to China to join the ever-growing Super League.

Chinese clubs are determined to make their mark on the global game and are luring some of the world’s top talent—such as Ramires, Gervinho and Fredy Guarinto the Far East with huge salaries.

Per talkSPORTTurkish international Turan is now considering a reported offer from an unnamed Chinese club.

He was forced to wait until January to make his debut for manager Luis Enrique’s side because of Barca’s international transfer ban. However, the 29-year-old has failed to make the impact that was expected following his £27.5 million move from fellow Liga side Atletico Madrid.

Turan has scored twice domestically in his 13 league appearances, but his flashes of brilliance, previously seen on a regular basis in Andalusia, have been missing this term.
