Champions League 2016: Odds, Live Stream for Wednesday's Quarter-Final Fixtures

Gianni VerschuerenApr 5, 2016

Manchester City will try to keep the Premier League's UEFA Champions League hopes alive when they take on Paris Saint-Germain Wednesday's quarter-finals, while La Liga giants Real Madrid will play Wolfsburg in Germany.

Los Blancos are coming off a 2-1 win against Barcelona in the Clasico and will like their chances against Wolfsburg, who are winless in their last three Bundesliga outings, per WhoScored.com.

PSG have already locked up the Ligue 1 title but limp into Wednesday's match without several starters, handing City a chance to come away with a big result in Paris.

Here are a couple of bets you might consider playing.

PSG vs. Manchester City Final Result: Draw (5-2)

Les Parisiens deservedly enter Wednesday's clash as the favourites, but a deeper look at their recent form suggests the Citizens are in a strong position to cause an upset.

According to WhoScored.com, PSG have won just two of their last five Ligue 1 matches, and while their attacking output was spectacular in wins over Troyes and Nice, they didn't look nearly as dominant against France's other top teams.

AS Monaco secured a 2-0 win at the Parc des Princes in March, shutting down PSG's vaunted attack and making the most of their chances. They won the battle in midfield and put pressure on Les Parisiens' defence, which looked suspect without star midfielder Marco Verratti there to protect them.

Manager Laurent Blanc confirmed the Italian and Javier Pastore will miss Wednesday's clash because of injury, and he said City's style of play doesn't suit his team, per Goal's Dom Farrell:

"

Their style of play does not suit us because they play like us. They want to have control of the game. It's the key to the game.

I do not know if it's an advantage or a disadvantage to [be at home in] the first match. But we must not concede a goal. I think we will defend very well.

"

City's recent form has been wildly inconsistent, but they looked back to their best during Saturday's 4-0 win over Bournemouth. It's no coincidence that happened to be Kevin De Bruyne's first match back after a lengthy injury layoff.

He immediately scored in his first match back, and his statistics this season look impressive, per Squawka Football:

Per Nick Purewal of the Press Association (via the Daily Mail), City manager Manuel Pellegrini isn't sure whether De Bruyne will be fit to start against Les Parisiens; however, he looked just fine against the Cherries, and all signs indicate he'll play a big role on Wednesday.

City are a much better team with the Belgian in the squad, and with Sergio Aguero also finding his best form at the right time, and PSG showing signs of weakness, all the ingredients are there for an upset.

Wolfsburg vs. Real Madrid First Scorer: Cristiano Ronaldo (5-2)

Wolfsburg's poor recent form means Real are overwhelming favourites entering this tie, and oddsmakers have taken notice. You'll have to dig to find any bets that look realistic and will net you a nice return, and Cristiano Ronaldo as the first scorer is one of the few options.

The Portugal international scored the winner during Saturday's Clasico and has been on fire of late, scoring in four of his last five outings, per WhoScored.com.

Per the same source, his numbers in the Champions League are even better, as he's scored a ridiculous 13 goals and has netted in every match he's played, barring the clashes with Paris Saint-Germain.

As shared by the Champions League's official Twitter account, even the Wolfsburg players know their chances are slim entering the first leg against Real:

Die Wolfe have struggled tremendously since the turn of the year and currently sit just eighth in the Bundesliga standings. They cruised past debutants AA Gent in the previous round, but even against the unfancied Belgians, Wolfsburg showed clear weaknesses at times.

Real are flying high after their win over bitter rivals Barcelona, and given Ronaldo's excellent record in Europe this year, you have to like his chances of scoring the opening goal.
