It won't be smooth sailing for Pep Guardiola once he lands in the Premier League, at least according to Sir Alex Ferguson.

The legendary Manchester United manager warned the incoming Manchester City manager the adjustment to the English game will be tough.

The Star also reported a rumour that Liverpool are the subject of a giant takeover bid from the Middle East.

In the same interview, Ferguson backed under-fire Louis van Gaal, explaining that Manchester United always have down spells before bouncing back.

That's the story in the Mirror, along with a rumour that Manchester City will have to break the bank in the form of a record fee in order to lure Paul Pogba from Juventus.

Meanwhile, the Sun relayed a rumour that Manchester United are weighing up going for in-demand Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The paper also ran with a rumour that City still have a hope at landing Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi

Pochettino is also front and centre in the Express, with the boss backing teenager Dele Alli to handle all the pressure of becoming a star.

It also keeps the rumour mill churning with a line that West Ham United are in for unsettled Manchester City man Yaya Toure.
