Jordan Bonner, Kentucky LB Recruit, Stabbed Multiple Times
University of Kentucky linebacker recruit Jordan Bonner was allegedly stabbed six times on March 19 when he traveled home to visit his infant son near Cleveland.
According to Fox 8 Cleveland's Peggy Gallek, Aristotle Lewis was arrested and charged with felonious assault for allegedly stabbing Bonner. He has since been released from jail on bond as he awaits a return to court.
Bonner told Fox 8 he was stabbed in his chest, abdomen and back, while his mother, Karen Barhams, "said the doctors told her that her son is lucky to be alive," according to Gallek.
"This sets me back a little because I need to finish my classes and I can’t go back until I get the staples out next week," Bonner said, per Gallek.
The linebacker—who spent four days in the hospital—is enrolled at junior college Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, but he's slated to transfer to Kentucky this fall after committing to the Wildcats on Feb. 3, according to 247Sports.
The 3-star recruit also had offers from the University of Tennessee, the University of Louisville and the University of Nebraska.
