Here's a novel way to goad your opponent into a rash challenge.

Maritzburg United goalkeeper Glenn Verbauwhede has gone viral after video emerged of his rather bizarre antics during the Soweto derby against the Lamontville Golden Arrows earlier this month.

In an attempt to have the opposing strikers booked, Verbauwhede would hesitate before picking up the ball and then launch into a headfirst dive toward their feet.

Madness? Genius? Call it what you want, but, well, it worked.
