Premier League Table: Week 31 Standings, Weekend Recap After Sunday's Scores
Tottenham Hotspur closed the gap on Premier League leaders Leicester City to five points on Sunday after they sealed a 3-0 home victory over Bournemouth largely thanks to a Harry Kane brace.
Manchester United also pinched a 1-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium after starlet Marcus Rashford continued his fine start to senior life with the Red Devils by bagging the only goal of the derby clash.
Liverpool let slip a 2-0 lead in their trip to Southampton earlier on Sunday, where a brace from Saints forward Sadio Mane sparked a 3-2 revival for Ronald Koeman's side, who netted twice in the final 10 minutes.

Recap
Spurs responded to Leicester's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday in the best fashion that manager Mauricio Pochettino could hope for, handing Bournemouth a 3-0 hiding at White Hart Lane.
It was a case of "anything you can do, I can do better" for the north Londoners as Kane scored twice before Christian Eriksen followed up with a third just after the break. Pochettino's men climbed back to within five points of the Foxes as a result, and football writer Deji Kofi Faremi outlined their title run as a fairy tale not to go undervalued:
It took Kane just one minute to open the scoring before adding a second 15 minutes later after a delightfully weighted pass from Dele Alli saw the striker slot home low to Artur Boruc's right.
The England frontman almost added a third, but Eriksen was on hand to divert home the rebound for 3-0. Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker was left dumbfounded as to how two of his former clubs were favourites:
As well as sealing back-to-back wins, Tottenham's victory also gave them their second consecutive clean sheet and lifted them back three points ahead of north London rivals Arsenal, a sweet reward in itself.
Bournemouth, on the other hand, finally saw their dream run of March results come to an end in the nation's capital, although Eddie Howe's men look to have secured their top-flight future already.
Manchester United's win over Manchester City wasn't quite as convincing, but their 1-0 away triumph might have boosted faith in the managerial qualities of Louis van Gaal thanks to Rashford's 16th-minute winner.
Following the finishing exploits of Kane and a selection of other English forwards, Bet365 highlighted the thriving talent pool that appears to be emerging in front of Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson prior to Euro 2016:
The Red Devils are now unbeaten in three league meetings against the Citizens. Sunday's win also meant United have survived a Premier League campaign without suffering defeat to City for the first time since 2010-11.
Their slim triumph was no fluke, either, after Rob Dawson and Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News outlined their 1-0 win as a deserved result:
Earlier in the day, Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge steered Liverpool into a 2-0 lead in their trip to St. Mary's earlier, but Saints substitute Mane inspired a tremendous fightback for the south-coast hosts.
The Senegalese attacker missed a penalty minutes after coming on at the break before making up for that error by scoring either side of Graziano Pelle's intervention. Speaking to Sky Sports after the result, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp refused to berate his squad, per the Mirror's James Whaling:
"We have played 20 more games, how can I blame my players? They were not in the same shape in the second half and we had to finish the game. We have had wonderful moments this season and today it was Southampton's moments.
I do not know about the top four, we are not closer than we were before. There are nine games left, that is 27 points, it is possible, I don't know.
"
Southampton moved back up to seventh as a result of their three-point haul, three points clear of Liverpool, although Klopp's men have played two games fewer than their southern counterparts.
The Merseysiders now have a fortnight to wait before they host second-place Tottenham at Anfield, looking to dethrone their north London foes and kick-start their campaign for European qualification.

Elsewhere, Benitez earned his first point as Magpies manager thanks to an 83rd-minute headed equaliser from Serbian striker Mitrovic. Sunderland striker Defoe volleyed home the opener just prior to the break at St. James' Park, but a share of the spoils was probably a deserved score for two teams scrapping against the drop.
Benitez voiced his pleasure with the performance of former Anderlecht forward Mitrovic and said this display can be used as a springboard for the club's fight to avoid relegation, per the Mirror's Simon Bird:
"I believe Mitrovic has potential. He needs better crosses and delivery and support. But he can do that sort of goal. In our situation, to see the reaction of the players, the way we did in the second half, I am really pleased and we want to keep that momentum.
To get one point, I am not happy. But the way we got it, I am pleased with the reaction of the players, and the fans. We did not play the level I wanted in the first half, but the reaction was better.
The goal was important for everyone here. From the dressing room to the fans.
"
Both teams remain in the bottom three following Sunday's draw, although 19th-placed Newcastle sit two points off their local rivals, who are 18th in the standings.
Sam Allardyce's side have now drawn their last three successive matches, but Sunderland know they'll need to start securing wins in order to retain their top-flight status.
