Torino vs. Juventus: Team News, Predicted Lineups, Live Stream, TV Info
Just days after losing their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich, Juventus will be looking to return to winning ways as they make the short journey across town to take on neighbours Torino.
They will do so knowing that their hosts are under intense pressure, currently occupying 13th place in the Serie A table after winning just one of their last 10 fixtures. Their most recent outing saw the Granata throw away a two-goal lead over Genoa, eventually losing 3-2 as their former star, Alessio Cerci, netted a well-deserved brace.
“We have a squad with a lot of potential that can become excellent, but this year we’ve been giving away points and entire games,” coach Giampiero Ventura lamented in a postgame interview with Mediaset Premium (h/t Football Italia).

They will need no extra motivation when facing their crosstown rivals, but having already suffered two defeats to Juventus this term, striker Ciro Immobile insists the Granata will be looking to bounce back on Sunday.
“In the Coppa Italia we lost 4-0 to Juventus, and that's always unpleasant,” he told reporters shortly after the match with Genoa, going on to say that he and his team-mates “want to avenge” that most recent result.
For their part, Juventus enter the derby in incredible domestic form and have not lost a league game since Sassuolo held on to a 1-0 lead back in October. Over their past 10 matches, they have prevented opponents from scoring a single goal, setting a new Serie A record in the process, and they will hope to continue that record against Torino.
That run of shutouts has seen goalkeeper Gigi Buffon move within three minutes of AC Milan legend Sebastiano Rossi’s league record mark of 929 minutes without conceding a goal, an achievement he will hope to beat on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Bianconeri are already three points ahead of nearest rivals Napoli at the top of the table, and Juan Cuadrado believes their Champions League elimination will only spur them on to greater heights.
“Experiences such as these will serve to help us grow,” the Colombia international told the media in attendance at Bayern’s Allianz Arena. “Now we need to move on from this and focus on the derby against Torino this Sunday.”

Key Battle

Perhaps the most important head-to-head clash in this match will be between two rival Brazilian wing-backs, with Peres of Torino likely to find himself going against compatriot Sandro.
Each has become integral to their respective side, with their clash discussed in greater detail in this previous post. Should one of that duo establish their superiority at the Stadio Olimpico, it is likely to have a major influence on the outcome of this fixture when the final whistle blows.
Player to Watch

While that battle on the flank is expected to be decisive, Torino will also hope to see Immobile shine against his former club. The striker joined the Juventus youth ranks back in 2008 but was never a part of their first-team plans, moving away in loan deals with Siena, Grosseto and Pescara.
Despite having ended the 2011/12 campaign as Serie B’s leading scorer with the latter of that trio, the Bianconeri then allowed him to leave in a co-ownership agreement with Genoa. Immobile endured a difficult campaign there, as he netted just five goals in 34 appearances, moving on once again to Torino, where he finally showed he belonged in the top flight.
Netting 22 times in 33 matches for the Granata, his impact saw him become Serie A’s top scorer and secured an eye-catching move to Borussia Dortmund where he again failed to make an impact.
The same was true of a stint with Sevilla in the first half of this season, and Immobile returned to Torino in January and already looked back to his best. The 26-year-old has struck five times in his first 11 matches, and his agent has revealed that the club have an agreement to make his return permanent.
“Torino can redeem Immobile for €11 million,” Marco Sommella said in an interview with the Cittaceleste website this week (h/t Football Italia), and an impressive performance against their crosstown rivals would certainly provide the impetus to do so.
