Jon Flanagan, Liverpool Agree on New Contract: Latest Details, Reaction
Jon Flanagan has signed a new deal with Liverpool that will keep him at the club for the foreseeable future.
The Reds announced the news on Friday, and Flanagan gave his thoughts on the new deal:
"It’s brilliant – it’s something I’ve always wanted to do since I was a child.
I think this is my third professional contract with Liverpool now, so I’m really happy.
I’ve been through a lot in the last two years with the injury, and maybe a few people thought my future was in doubt, but I’ve worked hard and this is a bonus at the end of it.

The defender's previous deal was set to expire in the summer, but his long-term future at Anfield has now been secured.
After flirting with it in the two years prior, Flanagan firmly broke into Liverpool's first team during their title-challenging campaign under Brendan Rodgers in the 2013-14 season, in which he made 23 Premier League appearances.
His good form that year saw him make his England debut as a 21-year-old immediately prior to the World Cup in Brazil.
Unfortunately, the right-back has made just five senior appearances for Liverpool since then after suffering a serious knee injury that not only saw him miss the entirety of last season but also the majority of the current campaign.
With concerns over his future now resolved, the 23-year-old will now be hoping to get his Liverpool career back on track and eventually return to the England setup as well.
For both club and country, his return to fitness gives Nathaniel Clyne valuable competition for game time at right-back and further strength in depth in that position.
