Samir Carruthers of MK Dons and Northampton Town's James Collins were snapped relieving themselves in full view of the public, with the latter attracting further outrage by proceeding to empty the glass over the balcony.

The Dons have responded quickly to the photos with a statement from a club spokesman (via the Mirror): "The club is aware of pictures circulating in the national media of one of its players at the Cheltenham Festival. The club has commenced an internal investigation into the matter."

Both players came up through the youth system at Aston Villa, and the Dons man was joined at the festival by team-mate Jake Forster-Caskey, Bristol City midfielder Luke Ayling and Leicester City goalkeeper Ben Hamer.
