New Animated NSPCC Ad Shows Young Wayne Rooney's Dreams Coming True

Wayne Rooney—or an animated version of the Manchester United and England captain—is starring in a new advert for NSPCC.

England's record goalscorer is an NSPCC Ambassador for Childhood and is depicted in the clip as a five-year-old in Liverpool dreaming of scoring a winning penalty for his country.

"I was lucky enough to be brought up in a warm, loving home. My family always encouraged me to dream and I believe all children should be happy, safe and free to dream," the 30-year-old wrote on Instagram.

Who knows—maybe that dream could be realised at this summer's UEFA Euro 2016 tournament in France?
