AS Roma exited the UEFA Champions League after a 2-0 second-leg defeat to Real Madrid on Tuesday, but there was a special moment for club legend Francesco Totti.

The veteran forward made a late substitute appearance toward the end of the Italians' defeat in the Spanish capital and was greeted with a rapturous reception from the Santiago Bernabeu crowd.

Totti has made more than 700 appearances in a 24-year career with Roma, and though his recent lack of match action has thrown his future with the club in doubt, there's no diminishing his popularity with supporters at home and abroad.
